Event Photography

Whether you need an event photographer for a corporate event, conference, networking event, family event or an awards ceremony I can help you capture the atmosphere perfectly.

As an event photographer I work with businesses, PR companies, marketing agencies, conference organisers and charities to document their events. My informal documentary style of photography allows me to blend into your event and capture moments naturally and effectively.

During your event I’ll work the room to put myself into the heart of the action to capture the event as naturally as possible. However, I’ll always be mindful of not interfering or getting in the way so you can relax and host your event safe in the knowledge that I’m capturing all the best moments on your behalf.

Quick Turnaround on Event Photography

I realise that soon after your event you may want to post follow ups on social media or in the press. I’ll send you a rush selection of images straight after your event and ensure that the rest of your images are edited, processed and sent back to you in a timely manner.

For commercial clients, if you wish, I can set up a secure online gallery where your guests can purchase digital images in a variety of sizes for their own marketing purposes following the event.

If you’re planning a team away day, why not take advantage of having the whole team together by documenting the day? It’s a fantastic way to capture the dynamic of your company not just for your social medial channels but to use as part of your recruitment.

Red Carpet Photos and Award Ceremonies

If you’re running a formal event and would like red carpet photos I can set up a pop up studio to capture your guests on arrival. Similarly, if it’s an awards ceremony I can photograph award winners receiving their awards on stage. Contact me to discuss your specific requirements.

Event photography FAQs

How soon will we receive the images?

I realise that soon after your event you may want to post follow ups on social media or in the press. I’ll ensure that the images from your event are edited, processed and sent back to you in a timely manner. If you need a handful of key images for sharing immediately after the event I can deliver these to you as priority when agreed in advance.

How will the images be delivered?

Images will be delivered to you via a secure online gallery. From here you’ll be able to download images directly. If we’ve agreed I’ll send you key images immediately after your event I may send these to you directly via email or WeTransfer.

Will you retouch the images?

All images will be adjusted for white balance, exposure, brightness, contrast, sharpness etc. I won’t retouch or digitally manipulate images as standard but if this is something you need I can offer it at an additional cost.

When do we need to pay?

Event photography is subject to a non-refundable deposit to secure booking with the balance payable 14 days prior to the event date.

Do you have insurance?

Yes, Simon Wiffen Photography holds Public Liability Insurance for £2 million.

Do you have backup equipment?

Of course! I always shoot with a backup camera body close to hand and my equipment setup has been designed with redundancy in mind so in the event of failure I’m able to continue working and providing you with great images.

If my event lasts longer than expected, will you stay longer?

If the event ends up going over the time we agreed I’ll do my best to stay available for as long as you need me. Any additional time will be charged at my standard hourly rate.

Are there any additional costs?

I don’t charge expenses for shoots within a 30 mile round trip. Outside that radius I charge travel expenses at 45p per mile. If there are additional expenses (train or hotel for example) these will be chargeable but I’ll agree these with you in advance.

Commercial clients
Commercial event photography costs include digital delivery of all the edited images from your event at full resolution.

Non-commercial clients
Non-commercial event photography costs include digital delivery of the edited images from the event at a size appropriate for sharing on social media. Following the event, full resolution digital files, prints etc can be purchased directly from the secure image gallery if required at additional cost.

What usage rights are included in your price?

Commercial clients
When I provide the images to you I’ll grant your company licence to use the images for marketing, PR and editorial use for as long as you need for no additional cost. If any other companies wish to use the images for their own publicity or marketing purposes I’ll charge them a reproduction fee. I’ll retain the copyright to all images and retain the right to use them for my own promotional purposes.

Non-commercial clients
When I provide the images to you I’ll grant you licence to use the images for personal use for as long as you need for no additional cost. I’ll retain the copyright to all images and retain the right to use them for my own promotional purposes.

What time will you arrive?

I believe in acting in a professional manner at all times and appreciate that you’re likely to have your hands full organising your event. Therefore I’ll always aim to arrive for your event in a timely manner and in advance of your event starting (unless we’ve agreed otherwise).

What happens if we have to cancel?

If your event is cancelled or postponed then I will make every reasonable effort to be available for your new date. If available, your booking will be moved to the new date however if I can’t accommodate your new date then the booking will be cancelled and the deposit retained.

What if you have to cancel?

If I’m forced to cancel due to exceptional circumstances, illness or anything outside of my control then any monies paid will be refunded, less any payment fees paid.

Can our guests purchase copies of the images?

Commercial clients
Yes, if you wish, I can set up a secure online gallery where your guests can purchase digital images in a variety of sizes for their own marketing purposes or for their own personal use. This is particularly useful when guests are picking up awards or if we’re shooting shots of guests as they arrive.

Non-commercial clients
Of course! You’re free to share the login details for your secure gallery with friends, family or guests from the event. From there they can review and/or purchase images directly as they wish.

Are you able to capture images of our guests as they arrive?

Yes, if you’re running a formal event and would like red carpet photos I can set up a pop up studio to capture your guests on arrival. These can be made available for your guests to purchase after the event if you wish. Please contact me to discuss in advance.

We're giving out awards - can you capture images of the award winners?

Yes that’s no problem! I can capture images of your award winners receiving their awards on stage. These can be made available for your guests to purchase after the event if you wish.

Do you shoot weddings?

I’m afraid I don’t generally shoot weddings. I am open to shooting small, informal celebrations though – feel free to get in touch to discuss your specific requirements.
