Family photography, autumn light and ‘The Decisive Moment’
Back in September I met up with Rebecca and her family for a shoot at Roundhay Park in Leeds.
Rebecca had been gifted a gift voucher. With two children aged 1 and 2 it was a great time to capture precious memories of their family. Children grow so quickly, these moments are gone before you know it.

Way back in July I met up with Hannah, Jack, Rafe and Ada for a family shoot on a beautiful sunny morning at the Yorkshire Sculpture Park.
Family Photography – Dogs are part of the family too!
They say “Never work with children or animals”, I couldn’t agree less! I like to be kept on my toes. Children and animals don’t sit still and why should they? Their job is to have fun, my job is to capture it.
Whenever a client asks me if it’s ok if they bring dogs to a family shoot they always seem to ask through a wince, anticipating a similar response from me. Nothing could be further from the truth though. I love the challenge!

I was delighted to be able to get back out shooting what I love best recently – Family photography. A couple of weeks ago I had a wonderful session with Aleksandra and her family on a beautiful sunny morning at Temple Newsam.
Giant bubbles and celebrating five years of our little boy
A couple of weeks ago we celebrated our little boy’s 5th birthday with a small party for him and his friends in our back garden. The giant bubbles were a big hit.
The recent lockdowns over the last 18 months or so have been hard for everyone but we have to remember for some of the younger ones this has been going on for a quarter of their life! For Ellis and his friends it’s been an awfully long time since they’ve been able to attend any kind of birthday so it was a real joy to see them having fun and enjoying the sunshine together.

Beautiful family photography session in the Spring light
I usually shoot family photography sessions in the woods or a park but for this shoot we’d arranged to shoot in the client’s back garden. As I arrived at their house on the outskirts of Huddersfield it was immediately obvious why they’d asked me to shoot there.
