Bank holidays in the UK are generally synonymous with rain so on the rare occasion we’re blessed with good weather, it’s always a good idea to grab it with both hands.
With temperatures reaching 30 degrees this Monday it was a great excuse to get the paddling pool out and cool off. I’ve written before about how I love to capture the magic of childhood and I’m never one to miss the opportunity to document that. This is especially true when Ellis is playing with his cousin. He’s really lucky to have a cousin of a similar age living close by and they play so nicely together. I’m always looking for opportunities to capture that.
I always get the most beautiful bokeh in the garden. We have wonderful mottled light as the sun breaks through the canopy of trees and spots of light from the rear of the garden where the sun peeks through the gaps in the fence.
Our afternoon consisted of exploring the garden for bugs to look at through Ellis’ ‘bugnoculars’ and a spot of cricket in between cooling off breaks in the paddling pool. We should arrange for good weather on bank holidays more often. I think it could catch on…
