Shadow & Light Monthly #8
Shadow & Light is a list of curated photography stories, features, techniques, news and inspiration that I’ve come across this month.
This month we share a photographer’s 27 year ritual of waving goodbye to her parents and look at beautiful work shaped by the photographer’s loss of vision. We celebrate pioneering women who are smashing stereotypes and take a detailed look at what goes into weather-sealing our beloved photography equipment.

Interview with MPB
This week I had the pleasure of being interviewed by the guys from MPB following my Unsung Hero Award.
The interview focusses on my 47 / A Life With Cystic Fibrosis project. Amongst other things we chatted about the project, my background, my technical setup and my advice for anyone thinking of undertaking a similar project. A big thanks to the MPB team for taking the time to chat to me.

In Focus: ‘Staying Inside The Lines’
I thought I’d try something a little different on the blog today. In a new series I’m calling ‘In Focus’ I’ll look at a single photograph in a bit more detail.
I’ll dig into the story behind the image, how I shot it and some of the technical details that make the shot successful. I hope you find this insight into my creative process interesting.

Wishing you a very happy 2020!
I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas break and a happy new year!
I always shut down through Christmas and it’s generally the biggest block of time in my calendar where I get to spend time with the family without having to worry about work. It’s a great opportunity to turn off and recharge a little for the year ahead.

Reflecting on 1 year since the release of ’47 / A Life With Cystic Fibrosis’
Today marks one year to the day that my book went on sale. It’s a very personal project that means a huge amount to me.
I wanted to write a post that not only reflects on the past year since the book became available, but also on the project itself. It took a huge amount of work to get to that stage in the first place. You might want to grab a cuppa!
