At the core of every charitable organisation lies the human stories that inspire its mission.
For Niemann-Pick UK (NPUK), a charity dedicated to supporting individuals and families affected by Niemann-Pick diseases, these stories are not just about resilience but also about enduring relationships built over time.

Recently, I had the privilege of working with NPUK to capture authentic, heartfelt images of the families they support. This project was about more than just photography—it was about visually telling the stories of these individuals and their deep connections with the charity.
Bringing Families Together at Roundhay Park

To create an environment where families could feel comfortable and natural, we gathered at Roundhay Park in Leeds. The autumn backdrop set the perfect tone for capturing moments of connection—whether it was families walking hand-in-hand or sharing laughter with NPUK staff. These images are now part of a broader effort to reshape NPUK’s online presence, giving a human face to the charity’s work and mission.
Creating a Coherent Suite of Photography

The photography from this project will play a vital role in NPUK’s upcoming website redesign, which has a strong focus on personal stories. By showcasing the real people behind the cause, NPUK aims to foster greater awareness and empathy, inspiring others to learn more, get involved, or support their mission.
“Simon is one of those rare people who just gets it. He captured exactly what we were looking for—every shot felt natural, professional, and spot on for our brand. He made the whole process super easy and even enjoyable.”
John Lee Taggart, Head of Communications – Niemann-Pick UK (NPUK)
